Atom House League


Port Colborne minor Hockey offers low registration fees,  smaller groups and regular ice times.

  -  registration is expected to be around 50 atom aged players born in 2000-2001

  -  players will be divided into 4  teams of 13 to a maximum of 16 players per team
  
  -  it consists of one shared practice time on a weeknight (tentatively set for Wednesday at either 5 pm or 6 pm at the EAST side arena)

  -  plus one game time on Saturday morning at the westside arena 11:00 am or 12:10 am  


Total ice time :
     each child is generally on the ice 2 times a week  (excluding weeks when there are weekend tournaments)
     22 practices on Wednesday at either 5 pm or 6 pm westside
     23 in-house games Saturday 10 am or 11 am Westside and some Tuesday towards the end of the year

SEASON totals:
      45  hours of ice time per child over the course of the season

This program is designed to further develop all the basic skills and help young players learn to play the game:  forward skating, stopping, backward skating, pivots, puck handling through various games, station based activities and structured drills. Players are encouraged to try their hand at both offensive and defensive positions. Goalie equipement is provided by Port Colborne Minor Hockey to allow all players the opportunity to play the goaltender position during the year.

Having fun, learning through play, while building friendships and good sportsman like behavious are the main focus of the program.
